The Anchovy Story

Hi! I love food, but I like the *idea* of cooking.     Kind of like anchovies. Good concept, savory little guys packed with umami. I like the idea of them. (Caesar salad, yes please. Anchovy on the rocks? Mmm, hard pass…)

When it comes to cooking, maybe you’re like me. I love it when I have (or had) time, but the reality is that it’s a daily struggle to just throw things together. I miss the enjoyment of making food and in the post-pandemic, I found myself also missing the gatherings that came with that.

Now in 2024, I feel like I have no more excuses to give. This is an attempt to rediscover some joy in the process of making food. I would love to get back to sharing recipes on a very personal level. I want to master meal planning! I’m in the process of developing an idea that might be a timesaver and will share once it’s fully developed. I want to share some memories and experiences around food and encourage you to do the same. Please post comments and share thoughts – If you have anything you would like to contribute or ideas for the blog please feel free to email me: info@anchovy.app.

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes get discouraged looking at social media and Pinterest boards. I literally wonder how people have the time to be so put together. I want to get suggestions from my friends and neighbors and help share their stories, because I think that otherwise we all feel like we’re on an island. And thinking about what’s for dinner is a silent pain that a lot of people feel on a daily basis. Let’s talk about that and find a solution. It’s my goal to make my ‘What’s for Dinner?’-syndrome a thing of the past.

If you relate to this, I want you to know that you aren’t alone. Whatever season of life and wherever you are in figuring out your culinary life- you’re right where you need to be! Life is a hot mess and that’s ok because that’s what friends are for. Call it a support group, call it an intervention! We’re on this journey - and anchovies swim together.

Cheers!
